Wuzzock was born in a Chevy van in the Kezar stadium [since demolished] parking lot. He had seven siblings keeping his mother Wattiwaw pretty darn busy during those first six weeks.
He met his longtime human friend and "Master" at Christmastime and moved into the Byrdbus, a VW bus that was to be his home for many years.
After puppyhood he graduated with honors in many subjects ...
Chasing balls/frisbies...security/barking...greetings/tail wagging...chasing hang gliders down hills and licking.
He even attained his Hang 1 hang glider rating! He earned extra biscuits as a security agent looking after the Byrdbus and performing general security/greeting services at Gandalf's Garage where he worked until his retirement in 1995.
Wuzzock was well known on the hang gliding circuit where he would often wait in the landing area for his friends to return to earth. He learned the different noises gliders made while on approach and would often run and greet friends with a stick.
Swimming came naturally for Wuzzock and he was very good at it. He had webbed feet and was very good at "doggy paddle". Often after a long day on security duty he would run to the nearest body of water, swim around and then exit the water for a good shake and then run back in for some more.
After his retirement in 1995 he lived half the time in Modoc County CA where he assisted in the construction of the family home. He loved Modoc and would go for long walks with his friends sniffing and peeing and stopping for a swim whenever he could.
He helped his "step" sister Eboney adapt to family life when she arrived , [after being saved form the San Francisco shelter] and shared food, biscuits and doggy etiquette with her.
Mr de Hond leaves behind many friends, both human and canine who will miss his wagging tail and eager smile.
